Art 3 Final

Part I 

 

I solve problems

I intended on making my prints to come out something like the one above on the left but I didn't realize that I needed to make two prints. After I figured that out, I got really lazy and frustrated and I just stuck to doing one print. Then I realized that I could just turn the print sideways and it could still match up. After that, I put all of my prints together to make one really cool big one. I really like the way it came out, even more than what I had planned.

I developed my art making skills
I started off making the prints with just solid colors, but in the picture you can see there are a few that I made gradient. I was given this idea by my two table partners, Jessica and Andrea. I didn't realize that you could use multiple colors in making these prints. I had just stuck to the plain solid colors before. They helped me learn a new technique into print making. Also, after doib so many prints, I became very good at print making.

 

I take risks

With this text art project, I decided that my medium would be melted crayons. This project was a huge risk for me because I had no idea how it would turn out and because I had never done it before. Melting crayons was a different material to me and I was willing to give it a try. After I finished, I was very proud of how it turned out and I am glad I took that risk. 

I create original art
As I was looking up ideas online for text art, I saw a melted crayon piece that had a heart in the center that was untouched by the crayons. I then thought of how I could do that with words. So I tried it out. I was "inspired" to make this art piece from the one I saw online. Haha. But anyways, this was a very fun project that was also a little messy.
 

Part II

 Do over
If I were given the opportunity, I would do over my time project. I feel that it could have been better and I just didn't spend enough time on that project. I think the piece does not really show time at all. If I could, I would change the piece completely. I would just come up with a whole new idea related to time art. I would have loved to try and take pictures like the ones above on the right because they were taken at exactly the right time.

Teens Inspired

After the printmaking, I started thinking about another art project I could do. I was going into the Artists Steal projects and then I started thinking of some ideas. I thought about doing star wars with 2 actual stars fighting.

Then I realized that I didn't have much time left until the school year was over to finish my teens inspired project. So I stopped with the star wars project and thought about my teens inspired project.  I came up with the idea to do the starry night but a sunny version. My friend, Catie, came up with the name Sunny Day for the piece.

Printmaking

So this project took a lot longer than I thought. I intended on making my print to look like this

 

 
After creating my design in the sketchbook I started cutting off the top part with the lines. I then painted this in several different colors and stamped them on several different papers. Next, I cut out the middle flower, painted it, and stamped it. After I finished that, I cut out the small flower and then painted that and stamped it down. It sounds like a lot, and let me tell you it was. I realized shortly after that my flower print was not going to turn out the way I wanted it to. It ended up like this
 

which is actually even cooler than I thought it would be. I placed all these prints on a poster board and this is what it looked like
 

This project took a long time but it had a great outcome. I am very proud of this project.

Finally finished my Time Art

After taking a lot of time with this project, I was finally able to complete it today. One of the challenges I did for this project was observing falling dominoes and then drawing them.

 I did my other challenge when it was snowing. I had built an igloo and then took pictures everyday as it melted. 

It took me a while to think of a good time art project but eventually I came up with the idea of doing a clock that is broken into 12 sections and has pictures in each section that is taken at that time of day. If that didn't make sense there are 2 pictures below 

I am now moving on to printmaking. I started digging deeper and this is what I have on my Pinterest board,

I also found an idea online of what I want to do with this project.

I want for my project to be symmetrical like this so that she can make 1 big tile out of 4 small ones.

Moving on to Time Art

In my last blog post, I

said that I was going to melt crayons and spell the word "inspire". So here it is! I started this by cutting out the word with tape. After I put that on the canvas, I super glued on 

crayons.When I was done with this I melted them with a blow dryer (This became really messy). In the middle of my blow drying the tape on the S and R started coming off so the crayons over where the tape was suppose to be. After I let the crayons dry, I peeled off the tape and painted white over the letters to make sure you can see the word more clearly.

Right now I am still thinking about my challenges. I have thought about dominoes falling but I am not sure if I will stick with it. 

ҬεϪ₸ Art

To start off our Visual Arts 3 class we were assigned to create a text art project. I dug deeper by finding cool text art on my Pinterest account. You can click on the link below to see what my Pinterest Board looks like.

After I finished looking up text art on Pinterest, I started on my challenges. So in one of my challenges I decided to draw Winnie the Pooh and write "honey" a bunch of times.

(When I took this picture, I was not completely done with this project. But he is finished now. )
My next challenge was a Black out Poem. I wanted my poem to be a little inspirational so I found the words "Keep up the great work" in a newspaper.

Now, I am starting on my final project. I want to melt crayons on a canvas and spelling out the word "inspire". The image below is kind of what I am planning to do with my project.
